The Orlando Runners and Riders group hosts a free 5K/10K run on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:30pm, in Waterford Lakes, East Orlando, FL.
We use the “track”, also known as the Waterford Lakes walking path on Mark Twain Blvd. If the path is closed (it happens once in a while, for maintenance), we have a backup, “home” course. There is parking available on Huckleberry Finn Blvd, a short walk from the Gazebo (where we start and finish.)
The “track” is a .75 mile paved asphalt walking / cycling loop circling a lake that is located across Mark Twain Blvd from the Waterford Lakes Rec Center. While the track is intended primarily for walking and running, there is a separate bike lane that is perfect for mountain bikes, cruiser bikes and other sidewalk type bikes, if you don’t feel you are up for a run.
The run is preceded by a 5K for Beginners class. Arrive a half hour early to participate.

There is a map of the “home” course shown below. Down below is another view of the “home” course.

This event is free. If you wish to make a donation to help cover costs that is totally up to you. Although we DO keep times and runners have been known to try and pass each other, this is not a competition, it is a fun run for health and wellness.
