So far more than 20 riders have competed in at least one race, but only a few have been in more than one.
The event is the safest and most relaxed racing environment possible. Aerospace Parkway is deserted on Sunday mornings, and a Time Trial involved little or no danger of collision with other cyclists. Since the Cox-Sprague scoring system in use rewards number of starts as well as high finishes, it is possible to get a “podium finish” by just being there.
This is not meant to be a terribly competitive series, but a short race to see “how you are doing” a couple of times a month. It fits in nicely as an interval, even if you are doing a “recovery day”, since it’s only 5 miles.
Consider coming out and joining the Orlando Runners and Riders for this event. Next races are January 13th and 20th. 8 am registration with 8:30 start.
Water / Gatorade is provided at no charge for all riders. This event is FREE. If you insist on making a donation, make checks payable to Orlando Runners and Riders, or use the PayPal button on this page.
