It was looking like your author would be the only rider in today’s Time Trial. Fortunately, the installation of 2 new water jugs attracted some new riders to give it a try.

Carlos Velasquez, Jorge Suarez, Brian Small, and Bill Van De Water joined us today to bring our “A flight” up to snuff. All four riders were able to complete the 5.1 mile course in the 14 to 16 minute range, in spite of a brisk wind from the North. “Crosswinds are the worst” one rider told us “because it ends up being a headwind both ways.”

All four new riders enjoyed the event in spite of the usual misgivings we hear before hand, such as “I’m recovering today!” or “I just want to ride ‘zone 2′” or the ever popular “I’m not really interested in time trialing.”

As always, the comments afterward were more along the lines of “That was fun! You do this every week?” or “Hey when’s the next one. I know I can go faster” and our favorite “So tell us about this club of yours?”
